Facilities

Large Hall
The main hall measures 14 by 9 metres (47 by 29 feet) and includes a raised stage. With a combination of wood block and carpet tiles, the space can comfortably accommodate up to 120 people using the hall’s padded chairs and trestle-style tables. The main kitchen and bar area runs along one side. You can see how the space connects by viewing our hall floorplan.
Small Hall
The small hall is often booked for meetings and as a creche. It has 24 padded chairs, and tables. There is a kitchenette.
Kitchens and Bars
The main kitchen and bar area have serving hatches onto the large hall. Equipment includes:
- Commercial dishwasher
- Gas oven and hob
- Large warming cupboard
- Microwave
- Refrigerator
- Long uninterrupted work tops
- Cutlery and crockery for 120 (available on request before hire date)
- Wine glasses
- Teapots/coffee pots
- Wall water heater and electric kettles.
The separate kitchenette has a hatchway onto the small hall. It has a sink, fridge, kettles and water urn.
IT and Tech
Wi-fi is available free when requested. A ceiling-mounted projector and screen is available in the large hall, and an AV system with microphone available. The small hall has a wall mounted monitor to connect to your own PC. All by prior arrangement with the Booking Secretary.
Access and Parking
The forecourt can be reserved for disabled car users and for your unloading needs. Otherwise parking is on the roads around the hall. At evenings and weekends if a lot of cars are expected, it’s a requirement to use the school playground 50 metres away for parking, for a charge.
Licences
The hall has a Premises Licence so you can sell alcohol, show a film, perform live or recorded music. There are hours restrictions on this – please ask us.
Weddings, Celebrations and Commemorations
Over the years, plenty of happy couples have had a pre-wedding drink at the Red Lion, got married in All Saint’s Church and walked across the road to the hall! The hall can be a blank canvas for you to make your wedding reception unique to you. Use the hall’s furniture or bring your own.
Parties are a popular type of booking, and yes you can bring in a bouncy castle! (up to 2.5 metres high.) There is a good stage, wood block dance floor and discos are allowed, up to 85 decibels – we need to be fair to our neighbours. Regrettably we’re unable to allow teenage parties any more.
Catering, by yourselves or your caterers, is helped by the included use of the fully equipped kitchen alongside the main hall. And there’s a simple bar/serving space too.
The hall is often booked for funeral functions as we are the nearest village hall to the Chilterns Crematorium (4 minutes drive).
Please see the availability and booking section for important things about how the hall can be used
